Shut up Stein - Sidearm Stories part 2: The Actual Wiffle Parliament

Every time I talk wiffs with someone (especially the newer wifflers) they bring the parliament up. "What the fuck does that even mean anyway?" is a common question. I kinda forget to explain shit sometimes, and when I was unpacking some stuff I found my original notes from last year on it. Here I break down not only the idea of what a wiffs parliament is, but I also explain the specific roles that people would have in such asituation. Don’t Get Wiffliminated Episode 5 - ORWBL

With ORWBL Commish Alex Friedman judging and a panel of Koby Keck, Wes Ellis, Drew Luther and Mark Richards, this show was 22 minutes of hot take theater. They talk about the negativity their league gets on the national stage, pick a player without much experience who could be a Hall of Famer, they change an ORWBL rule, name their favorite field not named Migley and are asked if Maple City will 4-peat. Very fun show!

Shut up Stein - Episode 12: Let's MEAT up

Does anyone remember how this podcast started? If you don't go listen to Holey Commutes October 8th edition, and then the October 11th edition. This alllllll started with the MEATS dropped out of the FP NCT event and I just couldn't keep my mouth shut about it. We finally get to the bottom of thins with Jimmy Cole as our guest. More importantly, JC details the inner workings of a fastpitch/medium pitch event in Chicago that's he's running in conjunction with....well I guess you'll just have to listen to get the details on that one. Oh also, the audio is a bit shaky, we'll be back to normal on the next episode.

Shut up Stein - Episode 11: El Sueño

I don't think theres a single person who pestered me  about coming on the show more than Chris Sarnowski Jr (aka Red). Welp, now he gets his chance. Joined by Sueño teammate Devin Torres, we discuss the names you may have never heard of in wiffs but most definitely need to be paying homage too. We also break down Devin's surge in the wiffleball world, and try to find a silver lining in his ECW league suspending all events until father notice. This blows.

Yesterday it was announced,  officially, that MAW is postponing their opening day event. Fucking. Bummer. At least we can bring Tim and Paul (Who I still can't tell apart by voice) on to the show to. talk about the implications of COVID-19 as well as hear a little about their broader vision for not just MAW, but also wiffs writ large. I don't think I've ever been more impressed with the head(s) on a league owner's shoulders than these guys. Shut up Stein Side(arm) Stories - Part 1: A rating system that will work (if you let it)

Remember when I used to bang my head against the wall trying to desperately stop the collapse of fast pitch wiffs? You ever stop and think, "wtf does this idiot even know about wiffs?" Ever thnk, "I'd love to hear what this douchebag has to offer." Okay, probably not, but here it is anyway. Welcome to Side(arm) Stories. These 5-10 minute segments are for ANYONE who has ANYTHING to say about wiffs, but perhaps may not want to come on an episode for reasons that are...well...probably related to me being simply awful. Here's my proposal for a rating system. It's full proof with no loopholes. I dare you to find one thing wrong with it. You can't can you? Who's the hottest guy in wiffs? it's definitely subject to debate, but we've got the youngest nominee right here in 2019 Fast Plastic Cy Young winner Cooper Ruckel, aka Coop. In this episode we sit down and talk about how to make sure that young hot guys like Coop don't burn out, and become "lifers." We're also STILL talking about the moonlight manifesto and just what the hell should be done about ensuring that NCTs are both national and a proper tournament.
